TNPSC Group 2 & 2A Notification on August 11; Vacancy Details to Be Announced

The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has announced that the Combined Group 2 and Group 2A Recruitment Notification will be released on August 11, 2026, as per the 2026 Annual Planner. TNPSC Chairman S.K. Prabhakar confirmed that the notification will include complete details on the posts, vacancies, eligibility criteria, and selection process.

The 2026 Annual Planner had listed six major recruitment examinations. Of these, notifications for three exams have already been released, while the Group 2, Group 4, and Combined Technical Services Examination (Non-Interview Posts) notifications are yet to be issued.

Although the official notification is still awaited, coaching institutes and aspirants have already begun preparation for the upcoming Group 2 and Group 4 examinations.

Speaking about the upcoming recruitment, the TNPSC Chairman stated that vacancy details are still being received from various government departments. Therefore, the exact number of vacancies will be announced only in the official notification on August 11.

He also said that efforts are underway to fill a significant number of vacancies in the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) through TNPSC. Depending on the nature of the posts, these vacancies may be included in the Group 2, Group 2A, Group 4, or Combined Technical Services recruitment.

The Chairman further assured that TNPSC is committed to releasing notifications on schedule, conducting examinations on time, and publishing results without unnecessary delays.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that Chief Minister Vijay recently held a review meeting with Human Resources Management Minister Sarathkumar and senior officials, directing all departments to fill vacant government posts on a priority basis. As a result, a higher number of vacancies is expected in the upcoming Group 2 & 2A recruitment and the Group 4 notification, which is scheduled to be released in October 2026.
