Aadi Pournami Girivalam in Progress: Auspicious Time Continues Until 8:54 PM Today

Devotees participating in the Aadi Pournami Girivalam at Tiruvannamalai can continue the sacred circumambulation of the Arunachala Hill until 8:54 PM today (Wednesday), as announced by the temple administration.

The Pournami period, which began at 7:32 PM on Tuesday, remains in effect until 8:54 PM today, making it the recommended and auspicious time for devotees to perform Girivalam.

Since Tuesday evening, lakhs of devotees have been arriving in Tiruvannamalai to undertake the 14-kilometre Girivalam around the holy Arunachala Hill, revered as the manifestation of Lord Shiva. The pilgrimage has been continuing throughout the night and into Wednesday with a steady flow of devotees.

Temple authorities and the district administration have made extensive arrangements, including drinking water, medical assistance, sanitation, traffic regulation, and security, to ensure the smooth movement of pilgrims.

With the auspicious Girivalam window remaining open until 8:54 PM today, devotees planning to visit still have the opportunity to complete the sacred walk within the recommended time announced by the temple administration.
