Railway Warning: Screenshots of Unreserved Digital Train Tickets Not Valid; Only RailOne App Ticket Accepted

Indian Railways has issued an important advisory for passengers travelling with unreserved digital train tickets, stating that screenshots, PDF copies, photos, or WhatsApp copies of digital tickets will not be accepted during ticket verification.

The Railways has reiterated that only the original digital ticket displayed in the RailOne app will be considered valid. Passengers must produce the ticket directly from the RailOne mobile application when requested by ticket-checking staff.

The clarification comes as part of Indian Railways` efforts to prevent the misuse and duplication of digital tickets. According to the latest guidelines, screenshots, downloaded PDFs, photographs, or tickets shared through messaging platforms such as WhatsApp are not valid proof of travel.

Railway authorities have also emphasized that the digital ticket must remain available on the same mobile phone and under the registered mobile number that was used to book the ticket.

Passengers travelling with unreserved digital tickets are advised to keep the RailOne app installed, ensure their mobile phone is sufficiently charged, and present the original in-app ticket during inspection to avoid inconvenience or penalties.
