Chennai Plans 30 AC Bus Stops and Modern Footbridges on Major Roads

The Chennai Corporation is considering the development of 30 AC bus stops on major roads across the city. These modern bus shelters are expected to provide commuters with a more comfortable waiting environment, particularly during Chennai`s hot and humid weather.

Modern Footbridges with Lifts and Escalators

The proposed project also includes modern pedestrian footbridges with lifts and escalators. These facilities are aimed at improving pedestrian safety and making road crossings more convenient, especially for senior citizens and people with mobility challenges.

Improving Public Transport Infrastructure

The proposed AC bus stops and modern footbridges are part of efforts to improve Chennai`s public transport infrastructure and enhance the daily commuting experience.

Officials are currently examining the feasibility of the proposed facilities. Further decisions regarding locations, design, implementation and timelines are expected after the feasibility study is completed.
