Trichy - Karaikudi, Tambaram - Villupuram Trains Partially Cancelled on Specific Dates

Southern Railway Train Update: Train services between Trichy and Karaikudi and Tambaram and Villupuram will be partially cancelled on specific dates due to track and technical maintenance works in the Trichy railway division, according to Southern Railway.

The changes will affect selected DEMU and MEMU train services. Passengers travelling on these routes are advised to check the revised train schedules before starting their journey.

Trichy–Karaikudi DEMU Partially Cancelled

Due to track and technical maintenance works in the Trichy railway division, the Trichy–Karaikudi DEMU train (Train No. 76820) will be partially cancelled on September 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21.

The train normally departs from Trichy at 8.40 am and operates to Karaikudi. On these six days, however, the train will operate only up to Thiruvarur.

The train will return from Thiruvarur at 4.15 pm on the affected dates.

Tambaram–Villupuram MEMU Partially Cancelled

The Tambaram–Villupuram MEMU train will also be partially cancelled on September 21.

The train, scheduled to depart from Tambaram at 9.45 am and travel to Villupuram, will operate only up to Mundiyampakkam.

On the return journey, the train will depart from Mundiyampakkam at 1.37 pm and operate towards Tambaram.

Nagercoil–Coimbatore Express to Run via Alternative Route

Southern Railway has also announced a route diversion for the Nagercoil–Coimbatore Express (Train No. 16321) on September 19, 21 and 22.

The train normally departs from Nagercoil at 8 am for Coimbatore. On the specified dates, it will operate via an alternative route covering Virudhunagar, Manamadurai, Karaikudi, Trichy and Karur before reaching Coimbatore.

The diverted train will have scheduled stops at Manamadurai, Sivaganga, Karaikudi and Pudukkottai.

Southern Railway Train Services Affected

The temporary changes have been announced to facilitate track maintenance and technical works in the Trichy railway division.

Passengers travelling on the Trichy–Karaikudi, Tambaram–Villupuram and Nagercoil–Coimbatore routes should take note of the revised schedules and route changes on the specified dates.
