Making AI education accessible across disciplines- IITM launches free AI courses now!!
With the aim to make Artificial Intelligence or AI education accessible across disciplines, IITM or Indian Institute of Technology Madras has now launched 5 free online AI courses through the Swayam plus platform.
Eligibility criteria:
It is noteworthy that this course would be open to UG/PG students, faculty and working professionals from science, engineering, commerce, arts and interdisciplinary backgrounds. There is no need for prior AI or coding experience and just basic digital literacy would be required.
Courses offered:
The five courses are AI in physics, AI in chemistry, AI in accounting, cricket analytics with AI and AI/ML using python. It is learnt that hands-on activities, real world datasets and case study based learning etc would be offered. Each course would be of 25 to 45 hours duration.
Last date for registrations:
On Swayam plus, registrations would be open until 12th May 2025.
As per the professor R. Sarathy who is Swayam Plus Coordinator at IITM the courses are aligned with National Credit Framework or NCF. He added that for the upcoming year these courses could be adopted by the universities as credit earning skill development programmes. For a nominal fee amount, a certificate option is available.
