Moderate Rain Likely in Tamil Nadu Today: Weather Update
After nearly 10 days of dry weather, several parts of Tamil Nadu witnessed widespread rainfall from late night on Tuesday till early Wednesday morning. According to official data, Chennai (Perambur) recorded the highest rainfall of 11 cm in the last 24 hours.
Meteorological officials said a low-level atmospheric circulation is prevailing over the Lakshadweep–Kumari Sea region, while another circulation is active over the southwest Bay of Bengal, off the Sri Lankan coast. Due to these weather systems, moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely at isolated places across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry today.
Fog and Temperature Drop Expected

- Due to the influence of cold winds, minimum temperatures may fall by up to 4°C below normal at a few places
