Over 7.3 Lakh Claims and Objections Filed in Tamil Nadu SIR
During the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Tamil Nadu’s electoral rolls, more than 7.3 lakh claims and objections were filed between December 19, 2025, and January 18, 2026, highlighting strong public engagement ahead of the state Assembly elections. Recognised political parties submitted a total of 2,72,148 representations through Booth Level Agents, with the BJP filing 61,438 claims, Congress 30,592, DMK 68,260, and AIADMK 67,286 claims. Smaller parties also participated actively.
Individual electors contributed significantly, with 7,35,191 applications for inclusion through Form-6 and Form-6A, and 9,505 deletion requests via Form-7. Officials emphasized that only properly submitted forms with valid declarations will be considered, and the final electoral roll will be published after verification and scrutiny.
