Train Departures Shifted to Tambaram Due to Renovation at Chennai Egmore Station
Ongoing renovation works at Chennai Egmore railway station have led to temporary changes in the departure and arrival points of several trains. Southern Railway has announced that these changes will be in effect from September 10/11 to November 9/10, 2025.
Key Changes:
Chennai Egmore – Trichy Rockfort Express (12653):
Will depart from Tambaram at 1:03 am instead of Chennai Egmore from September 11 to November 10.
Trichy – Chennai Egmore Rockfort Express (12654):
Will arrive at Tambaram at 3:30 am instead of Chennai Egmore from September 10 to November 9.
Madurai – Chennai Egmore Pandian Express (12638):
Will depart from Tambaram at 4:45 am instead of Chennai Egmore from September 10 to November 9.
Chennai Egmore – Madurai Pandian Express (12637):
No change – will continue to arrive at Chennai Egmore as usual.
Chennai Egmore – Rameswaram Express (22661):
Will depart from Tambaram at 6:20 pm from September 11 to November 10.
Rameswaram – Chennai Egmore Express (22662):
Will arrive at Tambaram at 6:35 am instead of Chennai Egmore from September 10 to November 9.
Chennai Egmore – Rameswaram Express (16751):
Will depart from Tambaram at 7:42 pm instead of Chennai Egmore from September 11 to November 10.
Rameswaram – Chennai Egmore Express (16752):
Will arrive at Tambaram at 6:45 am instead of Chennai Egmore from September 10 to November 9.
