Gone are the days when the physical education or PE subject used to be a fun period for the school students.
In the future, the school students might have to give equal importance to their physical education subject just like they give importance to other subjects like maths and science etc.
It must be taken into note that the subject of physical education would become as serious and structured as the subject like mathematics or subject like science etc at the schools in Tamil Nadu in the future. Surprised right!!
The sensational piece of information is that for the first time PE subjects would have exclusive guidebooks for classes 6 to 10 in the government and government aided schools across TN.
It was brought to light from the school education department release that the guidebooks for PW would have colourful and clear step by step illustrations to help the students easily understand exercises, games and safety techniques etc.
Pont to be noted is that yoga postures, Tamil heritage games, first aid etc would be explained visually to support connect form and better engagement.
It was later revealed by some officials belonging to the department that the larger objective behind this would be to help the students from all walks of life to excel in state, national and international sport competitions. Point is that this structured guidebook would bring clarity about how the PE subject would be taught to the students. The guidebooks would improve the fitness, coordination etc of the students by means of age appropriate engaging activities.
