Chennai Egmore Train Services to Operate as Usual: Southern Railway Cancels Service Changes

Southern Railway has withdrawn its earlier announcement regarding changes to the operation of certain express trains from September 1 to October 15 due to redevelopment work at Chennai Egmore Railway Station.

As per the latest update, the affected trains will now operate as per their regular schedules, allowing passengers to board and alight at Chennai Egmore without any inconvenience.

Earlier, it was announced that the Mannargudi-Egmore Express (16180) would operate only up to Tambaram, while the Salem-Egmore Express (22154) would run up to Mambalam. The Tiruchirappalli-Egmore Express (12654) and Mumbai CSMT-Egmore Express (22157) were also scheduled to operate only up to Chennai Beach.

Similarly, the Egmore-Mannargudi Express (16179) was to originate from Tambaram, while the Egmore-Tambaram Express (22153) was to start from Chennai Beach.

These changes have now been withdrawn, and all the trains will continue to operate from Chennai Egmore Railway Station as per the regular timetable.

Passengers can therefore continue their journeys from Chennai Egmore without any changes to their usual travel plans.
