The hottest day of 2019 in Chennai city was on Sunday 31st March

It is well known that the days are becoming hotter slowly in Chennai now. The month of March has ended and month of April has begun now. The news that would make many heads turn in awe is on Sunday, 31st March 2019, Chennai city and its suburbs experienced the hottest day in the year 2019. 

Point to be noted is the temperature touched 36.8 degree Celsius in the city and the temperature touched 39.2 degree Celsius in the Chennai suburbs. Inorder to beat the heat many people visited the popular Marina beach with their friends and families yesterday on Sunday.

On Saturday the temperature recorded in Chennai was 34.3 degree Celsius and this has already given us some clue that the forthcoming days in the month of April would be hotter. In the last few days the districts belonging to TN were under severe heat waves is known. Chennai city has been under moderate heat and the temperature was between 33 degree Celsius and 35 degree Celsius only.

Weather blogger, Mr Pradeep John, expressed his thoughts. He spoke about the Sunday being the hottest day of 2019 in Chennai with temperature in Nungambakkam crossing 37 degree Celsius and added that Meenambakkam would cross 38 degree Celsius. He also threw light on places like Vellore and Tituttani where the temperatures would rise more and weather would be extremely hot.

Mr. Pradeep then explained about the sea breeze that had reached Chennai city and how the outskirts of Chennai have to wait for some more time for the sea breeze. According to him, the temperatures in the outskirts of Chennai might cross 40 degree Celsius also.

At about 11:30 am in the morning on Sunday, the temperature was just below 37 degree Celsius and the temperature reached to 35 degrees soon after that. At around 2:30 pm in the evening, the temperature was 35 degree Celsius in Chennai city. The sea breeze has made the Chennai city cooler than other places and due to this reason Chennai did not experience extreme heat till now.

The important information gathered is the temperature would not change in the next 48 hours of time and dry weather would be present in the state of Tamil Nadu. On Monday, in the Chennai city the maximum temperature would cross 37 degree Celsius and this was predicted by the meteorological department. The weathermen pointed out that the sky would be partly cloudy in the morning and then clear slowly afterwards.
