Ration Card e-KYC Special Camp Held Across Tamil Nadu Today

The Tamil Nadu government is conducting a special camp for fingerprint verification of ration card beneficiaries at all ration shops across the state today, September 19, 2026.

The Government of India has advised states to carry out fingerprint-based verification to confirm the Aadhaar details of all members listed on family ration cards.

Essential commodities are distributed at subsidised prices through fair price shops across Tamil Nadu. An announcement was made in January requiring the fingerprints of all family members listed on ration cards to be registered as part of the verification process.

Following this, special camps have been conducted at fair price shops across Tamil Nadu to help ration card beneficiaries complete the fingerprint verification process.

A similar special camp was previously held at all ration shops on August 28 from 9 AM to 5 PM. Another camp is being conducted today for beneficiaries who have not yet completed the verification process.

Venue: All fair price shops (ration shops) across Tamil Nadu

Ration card beneficiaries whose names are included in the family card but who have not yet completed fingerprint verification can visit their respective ration shops today and complete the e-KYC process.

The Cooperation Department has advised beneficiaries who have not yet registered their fingerprints to visit their ration shop and update their e-KYC through biometric authentication.

Documents to Carry

Beneficiaries visiting the camp should carry their Smart Ration Card and Aadhaar Card for the verification process.

All family members whose biometric verification is pending should be present in person to complete the registration.

Children below five years of age are generally not required to provide biometric fingerprints. Their Aadhaar details may be verified instead, depending on the applicable procedure.
