CM Stalin to Host Felicitation for Ilaiyaraajas 50 Years in Cinema
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin will felicitate legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja on completing 50 years in the film industry. The ceremony will be held on September 13 at 5.30 pm at Nehru Indoor Stadium.
Ilaiyaraaja, who began his career in 1975, has composed music for over 8,500 songs in more than 1,500 films across Indian languages. He is also the first Indian to conduct a full Western classical symphony in London.
Deputy CM Udhayanidhi Stalin will deliver the welcome address, while the Chief Minister will be the chief guest. Actor-politician Kamal Haasan and superstar Rajinikanth are set to address the gathering. Ilaiyaraaja, who is also a Member of Parliament, will deliver the acceptance speech.
The event will feature a special musical programme and symphony concert, with ministers, MPs, MLAs, film industry icons, and other dignitaries expected to attend.
