Tamil Nadu Education Department Announces Summer Training Camp for Class 11 Students
The Tamil Nadu School Education Department has announced special summer training camps for government school students who have completed Class 11, aiming to nurture talent and make productive use of the summer holidays.
The camps will be conducted from May 17 in two locations, Nilgiris and Yelagiri in Tirupathur district, and will run for five days.
A total of 895 students who excelled in academics, literature, science, and extracurricular competitions have been selected to participate.
- 690 girl students will attend the camp in Nilgiris
- 205 boy students will participate in the camp at Yelagiri
The Education Department has instructed schools to obtain parental consent letters and ensure students carry essentials including clothing, blankets, and ID cards.
For the safety of participants, one female teacher will accompany every 20 girl students during travel and the camp period.
The camps will feature a variety of activities, including:
- Physical fitness sessions
- Reading newspapers and magazines
- Short film screenings
- Dance and stage performances
- Music and body language training
- Poetry and story writing
- Interaction with young officers
- Social skill development
- Basic astronomy sessions
Officials said the initiative is designed to enhance students’ creativity, confidence, communication skills, and overall personality development.
