Chennai Metro Water New Connections: Apply Online, Charges and Areas Covered

The Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB) has reiterated that residents and establishments seeking new water supply and underground sewerage connections must apply through its online portal. All payments related to new connections must also be made online.

The clarification comes amid complaints from residents about middlemen collecting money to arrange new water connections. Metro Water officials have advised consumers not to pay anyone and to submit applications directly through the official online system.

CMWSSB New Connection Application Process

Residents and establishments do not need to visit Metro Water offices to submit applications. Applicants must use the CMWSSB online portal to provide their details and upload the required documents.

After an application is submitted, a field engineer will inspect the premises. If the information and documents are complete and correct, the application will be processed within 15 days, according to CMWSSB.

The applicable demand amount will be communicated through the online portal, and applicants must make the payment online.
