The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has issued a weather update stating that a lower atmospheric circulation over the southeast Arabian Sea and adjoining south Kerala region will influence weather conditions across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

- On Friday, December 26, isolated places in Tamil Nadu, along with Puducherry and Karaikal, may receive light to moderate rainfall.
- Chennai and suburban areas may experience light rain on December 26.
Cold Weather & Fog Alert
- Dindigul district: Possibility of frost-like conditions during early morning and night hours.
- Other Tamil Nadu districts: Chances of light fog during early morning hours.
- From December 26 to December 29, minimum temperatures across Tamil Nadu are expected to remain below normal.
Weather Outlook (Dec 27 & 28)
- Dry weather is likely to prevail across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal on Saturday and Sunday (December 27 & 28).
- Early morning light mist/fog may continue at a few locations.
Fishermen Warning
Strong winds reaching speeds of up to 65 km/h are expected over:
- South Tamil Nadu coastal areas
- Gulf of Mannar
- Kumari Sea
Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea from December 26 to December 29 due to rough sea conditions.
