Surprising number of travellers through Chennai airport in March alone!!

The news that has come out is that in the month of March alone more than 17lakhs passengers travelled through the Chennai airport in 12022 flights. To be exact, as many as 1731770 passengers ( 441775 international passengers) travelled through as many as 12022 flights.
Point to be noted is that flights from Chennai to cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata,Bengaluru, Kochi, Andaman, Coimbatore and Madurai were mostly housefull. People travelled in the international flights to countries like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Singapore, Malaysia, London and France.
It was later revealed by some sources belonging to the Chennai airport that mostly the passengers who travelled were tourists and there were also those who traveled for their business purposes.
It must be taken into account that Chennai airport connects air travel to most of the places in the country and the number of people using flights or footfalls are also on the rise. The summer vacation would increase the footfalls even more.
It is known that the airport at Chennai has been well connected with air routes and is also present at a strategic location. This has boosted tourism and trade in the southern places belonging to india.
