New depression area formed over Bay of Bengal: Prospects of rain in coastal districts

The convectional cycle in the upper layers of atmosphere over Southwest Bay of Bengal has now intensified into a high depression zone. According to the Meteorological Centre, this may develop into highly depressed zone in the next 24 hours.
Chennai Meteorological centre has announced that this may lead to heavy rains in the coastal districts of Tamil Nadu for the next 24 hours. It has also informed that there may be rains even in the interior districts.
The meteorological centre has also announced that it may rain heavily in Chennai city from tomorrow night and has warned the fisherman not to venture into the sea.
