More rain expected on Tuesday

Heavy rains lashed many parts of South India as the northeast monsoon gained strength. The meteorological department has said that more rain is expected on Tuesday. An official release said, Rain/thundershowers occurred at most places over Tamil Nadu and Puducherry; at many places over Kerala; at a few places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Lakshadweep, coastal and south interior Karnataka... Heavy rains occurred at isolated places over Tamil Nadu between 8.30 AM yesterday and 5.30 AM today. In Chennai, Tuesday morning saw cloudy skies. Many low lying parts of the city were inundated with rain water.
According to the forecast, heavy rains will occur on Tuesday at isolated places over Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
