Chennai Corporation to inaugurate new de-addiction centres

Chennai Corporation is set to inaugurate a new de-addiction centre at Communicable Disease Hospital (CDH), Tondiarpet. Officials at the department expect to find considerable reduction in alcoholism among public. This is proposed to be a 50-bed centre.

Reports were earlier on that people belonging to conservancy department of the Chennai Corporation fall sick due to liver ailments due to overmuch consumption of alcohol, as there have been just one alcohol de-addiction centre at Royapettah.
Treatments provided:

This new de-addiction centre will offer the below services free of cost:
·         Psychological therapy

·         Art therapy

·         Individual counseling

·         Family counseling

·         Yoga methods

·         Laughter therapy

·         Recreational activites

Patients who come in need of treatment are bound to stay here for  15 days to get treated. Upon completion of treatment, they will have to keep coming back to the hospital for once in ten days.
