Tambaram railway station gets a garden

A slew of measures have been made to upgrade the Tambaram railway station, which is used by more than 1 lakh passengers every day. The Tambaram railway station manager K Manivanan said on Friday that a new entrance has been set up at the station recently to prevent congestion.
The railways converted the front concourse into a garden after removing shops on the pavement. A foot over-bridge is being constructed with the help of Tambaram municipality to make it easier for passengers to enter the station from the other side of the road.The railways will carry out a cleanliness drive on October 2nd along with schoolchildren and residents of the area as suggested by the Prime Minister as part of the Swachh Bharat campaign.
