Chennai Suburban Train Services Changed from Today: 25 EMU Trains Affected Until September 6

Train services on the Chennai Beach - Tambaram suburban route will undergo several changes from August 25 to September 6 due to the ongoing Chennai Egmore Railway Station redevelopment works. A total of 25 suburban EMU train services will be cancelled, partially cancelled or rescheduled during this period.

Night Trains Cancelled

From August 25 to September 5 on weekdays, four Chennai Beach–Tambaram suburban trains scheduled to depart at 10:20 pm, 11:20 pm, 11:40 pm and 11:59 pm will be cancelled.

The 8:00 pm Thirumalpur–Chennai Beach EMU will be partially cancelled between Tambaram and Chennai Beach during the same period.

Similarly, the Ghuduvanchery–Chennai Beach trains scheduled at 10:15 pm and 11:20 pm will be partially cancelled between Tambaram and Chennai Beach.

The Chengalpattu–Chennai Beach trains departing at 10:20 pm and 11:00 pm will also be partially cancelled between Tambaram and Chennai Beach.

Changes in Train Timings

The departure time of some suburban trains will also be changed:

Chennai Beach - Ghuduvanchery: The 9:45 pm service will depart at 9:50 pm, five minutes later.

Chennai Beach - Chengalpattu: The 10:20 pm service will depart at 10:15 pm, five minutes earlier.

From August 26 to September 7 on weekdays, a Chennai Beach - Chengalpattu EMU service will be partially cancelled between Chennai Beach and Tambaram.

Sunday Train Service Changes

From August 30 to September 6, additional changes will be implemented on Sundays. Four Chennai Beach–Tambaram trains, two Tambaram - Chennai Beach trains and one Thirumalpur–Chennai Beach train will be cancelled.

In addition, the services of six suburban EMU trains will be modified.

Passengers travelling on the Chennai Beach - Tambaram, Tambaram - Chennai Beach, Chennai Beach - Chengalpattu and Chennai Beach–Ghuduvanchery routes are advised to check the latest train timings before starting their journey.

Chennai Railway Division officials said the changes have been introduced to facilitate the ongoing Egmore railway station redevelopment works.
