OpenAI Cuts Prices for GPT-5.6 Terra and Luna Models

OpenAI has reduced the prices of its GPT-5.6 Terra and GPT-5.6 Luna AI models just three weeks after their launch, aiming to attract cost-conscious enterprise customers amid growing competition.

The company lowered Terra`s pricing by 20% to $2 per million input tokens and $12 per million output tokens, while Luna`s price was cut by 80% to $0.20 per million input tokens and $1.20 per million output tokens. The premium GPT-5.6 Sol model remains unchanged.

OpenAI said the price cuts reflect its strategy of delivering more powerful AI at lower costs. The move comes as businesses seek affordable AI solutions and competition intensifies from Chinese startups such as Moonshot AI and rivals including Google, Microsoft, and Anthropic, all of which have recently introduced lower-cost AI models.
