Ration Shops to Hold Special eKYC Fingerprint Camp on September 19 in Tamil Nadu

The Tamil Nadu government will conduct a special eKYC fingerprint verification camp at ration shops across the State on September 19 (Saturday) to complete the Aadhaar-based verification of eligible family card beneficiaries.

Under the National Food Security Act, the Union Government has instructed that Aadhaar details of beneficiaries linked to electronic family cards be verified through fingerprint-based eKYC. The process has been carried out since October 2023 to ensure that all family members can complete the verification without inconvenience.

So far, 96.48% of beneficiaries under priority household family cards have completed the fingerprint verification process.

Special eKYC Camp on September 19

To achieve 100% completion of fingerprint-based eKYC, a special camp will be conducted at all fair price shops across Tamil Nadu on September 19.

The camps will be held from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

However, ration shops in the Madurantakam and Dharapuram areas, where by-elections are being held, will be excluded from the special camp.

Ration Card Holders Can Complete Fingerprint Verification

Family card holders who have not yet completed their fingerprint registration/eKYC through their respective ration shops can use this special camp to complete the process.

Beneficiaries are advised to visit their ration shop during the specified hours and complete the Aadhaar-based fingerprint verification.

The special initiative aims to ensure that eligible beneficiaries complete the eKYC process and that the Aadhaar details linked to electronic family cards are properly verified.
