Rahul Gandhi to Visit Tamil Nadu on August 1, Address Congress Camp at Mamallapuram

Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to visit Tamil Nadu on August 1 to address the concluding session of a Congress training camp at Mamallapuram.

Congress general secretary KC Venugopal announced the visit on Sunday. Rahul Gandhi is expected to interact with party leaders and workers during the programme, giving fresh momentum to Congress activities in Tamil Nadu.

Rahul Gandhi to Address Congress Camp in Mamallapuram

The Congress training camp at Mamallapuram brings together district leaders and party functionaries from across Tamil Nadu. Rahul Gandhi will participate in the concluding session and address party members on August 1.

Confirming the visit, TNCC president B Manickam Tagore said Tamil Nadu Congress workers were preparing to welcome Rahul Gandhi.

Tagore said the visit would bring fresh enthusiasm and inspiration to Congress workers and supporters in the state. He highlighted Rahul Gandhi`s campaigns focusing on the Constitution, democracy, social justice and opportunities for young people.

Rahul Gandhi`s Tamil Nadu Visit

Rahul Gandhi`s upcoming visit comes a few months after his previous trip to Tamil Nadu on May 10, when he attended a political event in the state.

The August 1 programme is expected to focus on strengthening the Congress organisation and preparing party functionaries for upcoming political activities.

KC Venugopal Attends Mamallapuram Training Camp

Meanwhile, KC Venugopal arrived in Chennai from Kochi to participate in the Congress training camp for district leaders and functionaries at Mamallapuram.

Speaking to reporters after arriving at Chennai airport, Venugopal also raised the issue of the July 20 police lathi-charge on students and demanded an explanation from Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Parliament.

Rahul Gandhi`s Mamallapuram visit is expected to draw attention as the Congress continues its organisational and political activities in Tamil Nadu.
