Tamil Nadu Weather Update: Moderate Rain Expected in 14 Districts Today

The Chennai Meteorological Centre has forecast moderate rainfall in several parts of Tamil Nadu today, with 14 districts likely to experience thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds.

According to the weather department, an atmospheric circulation is prevailing over coastal Tamil Nadu and the adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal. A trough extending from South Interior Karnataka to the Gulf of Mannar is also influencing weather conditions across the state.

Chennai is expected to remain partly cloudy, with moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms possible in some areas during the evening or night. The maximum temperature is likely to be around 34–35°C, while the minimum temperature may remain around 25–26°C.

Rain is also expected in parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal over the coming days, particularly in the Western Ghats and northern districts.
