Connemara Library to Reopen with Children’s Corner and Science Park

Chennai’s historic Connemara Public Library in Egmore is set to reopen in a new avatar, featuring an exclusive children’s reading corner and a children’s science park. Refurbished at a cost of over ₹4 crore, the upgraded library will also include renovated toilets, elevators, a conference hall, and a dedicated competitive exam preparation hall.
Officials said the new children’s science park will feature nine interactive science models to make learning fun and accessible. The makeover aims to attract more readers, especially children and students, and strengthen the library’s role as a modern learning hub.
