Tamil Nadu Declares School Holiday on January 14 for Pongal Festival

The Tamil Nadu Government has announced a holiday for all schools on January 14, on account of the Bhogi festival, ahead of the Pongal celebrations.
With this announcement, school students across Tamil Nadu will enjoy five consecutive days of holidays for the Pongal festival. Earlier, the state government had already declared public holidays on January 15 and 16 to mark the traditional Pongal celebrations.
According to the official order issued on Monday night, January 14 (Bhogi Pongal) will also be observed as a school holiday across the state.
Pongal School Holidays Schedule
As a result, students will have Pongal holidays from January 14 to January 18, providing an extended festive break for families to celebrate the harvest festival.
