The Indian Railways has announced that the UTS mobile app used for booking unreserved (ordinary) train tickets will be deactivated in phases starting March 1.
Over the years, the Railways has introduced several digital services for passenger convenience, including online ticket booking through IRCTC, automatic ticket vending machines, train tracking via NTES, grievance redressal through Rail Madad, and onboard food ordering. To bring all these services under one platform, the Rail One app was launched last July.
The Rail One app now offers all passenger services in one place, including:
- Reserved and unreserved ticket booking
- Season tickets
- Grievance registration
- Food ordering
- Concessionary ticket services
From March 1, the UTS app will stop supporting:
- New season ticket purchases
- Season ticket renewals
- New user registrations
- Platform ticket purchases
- R-Wallet recharges
The app will remain available on the Play Store until the transition is completed.
Passengers who have balance in their UTS R-Wallet will be able to use the same amount on the Rail One app without any loss.
The Railway administration has advised all passengers to download and use the Rail One app for a seamless travel experience.
