Tamil Nadu Weather Update: Low Pressure Weakens Over Arabian Sea, Rain Likely Till November 8
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has reported that the low-pressure area over the east-central and adjoining northeast Arabian Sea has weakened into a depression. It is likely to weaken further in the coming hours.
Meanwhile, a new low-pressure system has formed over the east-central Bay of Bengal and the Myanmar coast, moving north and northwest towards the Myanmar–Bangladesh coastline.
Due to this weather system, moderate rainfall is expected in a few places across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry today, while thunderstorms and lightning are likely tomorrow. Light rain may continue across parts of Tamil Nadu till November 8, 2025.
In Chennai and nearby suburbs, the sky will remain partly cloudy, with chances of light rain in some areas.
Strong winds are expected over the east-central Arabian Sea and Andaman Sea today and tomorrow. Hence, fishermen are advised not to venture into these sea areas until conditions improve.
