Passengers travelling on the Chennai suburban railway network should expect major disruptions in EMU and MEMU train services between May 17 and June 19 due to pre-non interlocking works at the Arakkonam Junction Railway Station yard.

According to railway officials, several suburban train services operating in the Chennai Central–Arakkonam section will face full cancellations and partial cancellations during different phases of the infrastructure works.

EMU Train Services Cancelled Between May 17 and 31

Several early morning and late-night EMU train services between Arakkonam and Tiruttani will remain fully cancelled from May 17 to May 31. This includes services departing around 4 am, 5 am, and 6.25 am from Arakkonam, along with return services from Tiruttani during late-night hours.

A large number of Chennai suburban EMU and MEMU trains will also be partially cancelled between Tiruvalangadu and Arakkonam, affecting multiple daytime and evening services.

Chennai to Arakkonam Train Services Affected

Several trains operating between Chennai Beach, Moore Market Complex, and Arakkonam will not run fully between Arakkonam and Tiruvalangadu during the work period. Passengers travelling towards Tiruttani, Tiruchanur, and Vellore are advised to check revised schedules before travel.

Two Tiruttani-bound suburban train services departing at 4.30 am and 12.35 pm will also remain partially cancelled between Tiruttani and Tiruvalangadu from May 17 to 31.
