Chengalpattu Declares Local Holiday on August 14 for Aadipooram Festival

The Chengalpattu district administration has declared August 14, 2026 (Friday) as a local holiday in view of the Aadipooram festival to be celebrated at the Melmaruvathur Adhiparasakthi Temple in Cheyyur Taluk.

The announcement was made through an official notification issued by the District Collector, stating that the holiday has been declared under the relevant government order to facilitate devotees and the general public during the annual temple festival.

To compensate for the holiday, August 29, 2026 (Saturday) has been declared a working day for all government offices in the district.

The local holiday will be applicable only within Chengalpattu district, while government offices will function as usual on the compensatory working day.
