Two MEMU train services in Chennai will be partially cancelled on Sunday (January 4) due to scheduled maintenance work, according to an official announcement by the Chennai Railway Division.
In a press release issued on Friday, railway authorities stated that maintenance work will be carried out at the Chengalpattu and Singaperumal Koil workshops on the Egmore–Villupuram section between 1:10 pm and 2:10 pm on Sunday.
As a result of the maintenance activity:
- The MEMU train departing from Chennai Beach at 11:45 am will operate only up to Singaperumal Koil, instead of its scheduled destination Chengalpattu.
- In the return direction, the MEMU train departing from Singaperumal Koil at 1:50 pm will operate as scheduled and arrive at Chennai Beach.
Passengers are advised to take note of the temporary change in service and plan their travel accordingly.
