Railways Approves Three Amrit Bharat Express Trains from Tamil Nadu

The Ministry of Railways has approved the operation of three Amrit Bharat Express trains originating from Tamil Nadu, significantly improving long-distance rail connectivity between the southern and eastern parts of the country.

The first approved service will run between Tiruchirapalli and New Jalpaiguri, covering key stations such as Thanjavur, Kumbakonam, Mayiladuthurai, Chidambaram, Cuddalore, Villupuram, Chengalpattu, Tambaram, Chennai Egmore, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Bhubaneswar, and Kharagpur, among others.

The second Amrit Bharat Express will operate between Tambaram and Santragachi, halting at major junctions including Chennai Egmore, Vijayawada, Bhubaneswar, and Kharagpur, providing faster connectivity for passengers traveling towards eastern India.

The third service, one of the longest routes, will connect Nagercoil and New Jalpaiguri. The train will pass through Tirunelveli, Kovilpatti, Sattur, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Dindigul, Palani, Udumalaipettai, Pollachi, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Jolarpettai, Katpadi, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Bhubaneswar, and Kharagpur.

According to railway sources, these three Amrit Bharat Express trains, along with several other new services - possibly including one or two Vande Bharat trains - are expected to be flagged off soon by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The move is expected to enhance affordable, modern rail travel options for passengers across multiple states.
