About 3.57lakhs people have benefited from Innuyir Kappome- Nammai Kakkum 48 scheme in Tamil Nadu. This was brought to light by the health department now.
It must be noted that the central govt has announced this superb scheme to provide free treatment for those involved in road accidents in India.
On 18th December 2021, this Innuyir Kappome- Nammai Kakkum 48 scheme was launched in TN by the CM of T Mr. M.K. Stalin. The main objective of this scheme was to save lives of those who are involved in the road accidents in TN.
Point is that this unique scheme is being implemented in TN by identifying 500 places in TN where majority of the road accidents would take place and selecting nearby private and government hospitals.
Information gathered is that under this scheme Rs 5000 is provided to those who admit the people involved in the accidents.
It is worthy to note that in this superb scheme not only those belonging to TN are getting benefited but even those from other states or other countries are also getting benefited. Measures are being taken to save these persons involved in the accidents if they are admitted within 48 hours.
In the last 3 years as many as 357137 persons have benefited from this scheme. An amount of Rs 318.89 cr has been spent by the TN govt for this unique scheme. In 723 hospitals this scheme has been operational, that is 250 govt hospitals and 473 private ones. It is noteworthy that in all these hospitals free treatment up to Rs 1 lakh is being given under this scheme. Recently, the amount has been increased to Rs 2lakhs.
It is now said that Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam scheme, Innuyir Kappome- Nammai Kakkum 48 scheme has been utilised not only by the people in TN but they serve as a guiding scheme in many countries also.
