Vaikunta Ekadasi 2025 – Sorga Vasal Opening at Parthasarathy Temple, Chennai
Chennai’s historic Thiruvallikeni Parthasarathy Temple, one of the 108 Divya Desams, will celebrate Vaikunta Ekadasi 2025 with special rituals and processions. The festival begins on December 20, 2025, with the ceremonial procession of Venkata Krishna Thirukolam, and the Lord will be adorned in different decorations each day for darshan.
The main event, the Sorga Vasal (Vaikunta Gate) opening, will take place on December 30, 2025 from early morning, with Moolavar darshan starting at 2:30 AM, followed by the gate ceremony at 4:30 AM. The temple will remain open for devotees until 10:30 PM.
From December 31 to January 7, evening Sorga Vasal darshan will continue daily, and the Raapathu Utsavam will conclude on January 9, with Lord Parthasarathy blessing devotees in different Thirukolams. Special arrangements are in place to ensure the comfort and safety of devotees throughout the festival.
