Tamil Nadu Weather Update: Bay of Bengal Low-Pressure Weakens, Rain Likely Till November 11
The deep depression over the northeast Bay of Bengal, near the Myanmar–Bangladesh coast, has weakened into a low-pressure area, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Weather officials report that the system is moving north and northwest and is expected to weaken further in the coming days.
An upper air cyclonic circulation continues to persist over the interior parts of Tamil Nadu, influencing widespread weather activity across the state.
The IMD forecast indicates that moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is likely to continue in several districts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry till November 11.
Heavy Rainfall Forecast
Today: Heavy rain is expected in isolated places across Ariyalur, Perambalur, Tiruchirappalli, Kallakurichi, Tiruvannamalai, Salem, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, and Tirupattur districts.
Tomorrow: Heavy rain is likely in Ramanathapuram, Sivagangai, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Theni, and Dindigul districts.

In Chennai and surrounding areas, the sky will remain partly cloudy, with chances of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in some locations.
