Tamil Nadu Lowers Age Limit for CMs Thayumanavar Scheme to 65 Years

The Tamil Nadu Government has reduced the age limit for the Chief Minister’s Thayumanavar Scheme from 70 to 65 years, benefiting more senior citizens across the state.
Through this welfare program, essential ration items like rice and sugar are delivered directly to the homes of elderly and differently abled beneficiaries, ensuring comfort and accessibility.
The scheme now supports over 21 lakh people across 34,809 fair price shops, operating on the second Saturday and Sunday of every month.
This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to inclusive and people-centered welfare services.
