Heavy rain is likely at isolated places in the Chengalpattu and Villupuram districts of Tamil Nadu tomorrow, August 18, according to the weather forecast.

A weak low-level atmospheric trough currently prevails along the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu. Due to this weather system, isolated areas of Chengalpattu and Villupuram are likely to receive heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds on August 18.

Moderate rain is expected at a few places in the Western Ghats districts and north coastal Tamil Nadu, while light rain is likely at a few places across the remaining parts of the state.

On August 19, heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds is likely at isolated places in the Nilgiris, Chennai, Chengalpattu, Tiruvallur and Villupuram districts.

Moderate rain is expected at a few places in the Western Ghats districts and north coastal Tamil Nadu, while light rain may occur at a few places elsewhere in the state.

From August 20 to 23, moderate rain is likely at isolated places in the Western Ghats districts, with light rain expected at isolated places across the rest of Tamil Nadu.

Temperatures May Rise in North Interior Tamil Nadu

From August 18 to 21, maximum temperatures in parts of north interior Tamil Nadu may rise by up to 7°F above normal.
