Train Timings Revised for Several Tamil Nadu Routes from January 2026
Indian Railways has announced changes in the timings of multiple trains passing through Virudhunagar and Tirunelveli routes, including the Sengottai–Tambaram Express (Train No. 20684). The revised schedules will come into effect from January 1 and January 2, 2026.
Sengottai – Tambaram Express (20684)
Days: Monday, Wednesday, Friday
New Departure: 5:35 PM from Sengottai (instead of 4:30 PM)
Effective From: January 2, 2026
Arrival: 7:25 AM next day at Tambaram
The train will halt at Tenkasi, Ambasamudram, Virudhunagar, Aruppukkottai, Karaikudi, Aranthangi, Pattukkottai, Chidambaram, Tirupadripuliyur, and Villupuram.
Return Service: Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday – no change (Departs Tambaram at 9:00 PM).
Pothigai Express (12662) – Time Change
From Sengottai: 6:50 AM (instead of 6:45 AM)
Arrival at Chennai Egmore: 5:55 AM (instead of 6:10 AM)
Effective From: January 1, 2026
Return journey: No change
Kollam – Tambaram Train (16102)
Revised halt timings at Sankarankovil, Rajapalayam, Srivilliputhur, Sivakasi, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Dindigul, Trichy, Vriddhachalam, Villupuram, and Chengalpattu
New Arrival at Tambaram: 6:05 AM (instead of 7:30 AM)
Effective From: January 1, 2026
Sengottai – Mayiladuthurai Train
Departure from Sengottai: 7:00 AM (instead of 6:55 AM)
Return from Mayiladuthurai: 12:35 PM (instead of 12:10 PM)
Revised timings at Madurai, Dindigul, Trichy, Thanjavur, Manapparai, and Vadamadai
Trichy – Dindigul & Villupuram – Dindigul Trains
Trichy–Dindigul: Departs at 6:05 PM (instead of 6:10 PM)
Villupuram–Dindigul Intercity: Departs at 4:30 PM (instead of 4:55 PM)
