2 days Special camp for Voters List: 4 lakh citizens apply!

A two-day special camp was conducted in polling booths throughout the state of Tamil Nadu for additions, corrections, and deletions in the Voters` List. 4 lakh citizens have submitted fresh applications during these special camps.
The task of correcting the Voters` List is carried out annually following the guidelines of the Indian Election Commission. The process of correction, addition, and deletion in the Voters` List for the year 2023 commenced on the 27th of October, with the release of a Draft Voters` List on the same day.
Subsequently, the process of adding or removing names and making corrections in the Voters` List continued. It was announced that the public could complete these activities by visiting the official website of the Indian Election Commission or its app, as well as by visiting the Registration Officers in the Taluk Offices.
As of the 3rd of November, 36,142 applications were received, both online and through personal visits. Notably, 15,187 applicants submitted Form-6 for the inclusion of their names.
In line with the earlier announcements, special camps were organized in all 68,000 polling booths throughout Tamil Nadu on Saturday and Sunday to facilitate additions, deletions, and corrections in the Voters` List. More than 6 lakh applications have been received in total.
Tamil Nadu State Chief Election Officer Satyapradha Sahu shared the following information:
"A significant number of the public participated in the special camps conducted in the polling booths throughout Tamil Nadu. The District Election Officers and the Voters` List Supervisors surveyed and analyzed the tasks completed. Here are the details:
- 4,07,100 citizens have submitted Form-6 for the addition of names.
- 762 citizens have submitted Form-6B for linking with Aadhar Card.
- 36,368 citizens have submitted Form-7 for the removal of names.
- 1,55,882 citizens have submitted Form-8 for a change in address.
This adds up to a total of 6,00,112 applications received during the special camps.
Special camps are scheduled to be organized again on the 18th and 19th of November."
