6500 seats for Unified Students Admission for the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and Fisheries University to be filled up ONLINE only!

The admission for courses offered by Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and Tamil Nadu Dr. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University commenced yesterday (Wednesday, 10th May). Geethalakshmi, Vice Chancellor of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, inaugurated the event and shared with the press reporters, "Unified admission for Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and Tamil Nadu Dr J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University jointly together will be conducted. Accordingly, student admission is being organized with a single application this academic year."

Interested students can apply through a single online application on the websites www.tnau.ucanapply.com OR www.tnagfi.ucanapply.com until the 9th of June. Tamil Nadu Agricultural University offers 14 graduate courses and 3 diploma courses. Tamil Nadu Dr. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University offers 6 graduate science courses and 3 industrial training courses.

The application fee for common or general cadre candidates is Rs. 500/-. The fee for candidates belonging to the SAC/ST cadre is Rs. 250/-. Students can contact the university for any clarifications 24 hours a day. Please note that all student admissions will be online only.

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University has 3363 seats available in member colleges and 2806 seats in joint colleges for a total of 6169 seats. Tamil Nadu Dr. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University has 345 seats available and 57 special quota seats available.

In this academic year, 2 more graduate courses, B. Tech. (Bio-Informatics) and B. Tech. (Agriculture Information), are being introduced. There are prospects for an entrance examination for admission to the above courses from the next academic year, similar to NEET (National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test).

The counseling for admission to Tamil Nadu Dr. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University will be conducted at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. This decision was jointly taken by the Vice Chancellors of both universities and the lecturers. However, there are no proposals to merge these 2 universities.
