Chennai to be divided into 3 parts - On street parking system in Chennai- Whats the latest?

Soon, the on street parking system in Chennai would be managed by multiple contractors!!
It is now revealed that the GCC would be adding 2 more contractors for managing the on street parking system in the city. Point is that Toorq Media Services has been the single contractor till now managing the on street parking system.
Mr. Vishu Mahajan, deputy commissioner Revenue & Finance explained that the city of Chennai would be divided into 3 and three separate contractors would be handling each part. He threw light on how zone 1 to 7 would be given to a new contractor and zone 8 to 10 would be handled by the present contractor Toorq Media Services and zones 11 to 15 would be handled by another contractor. Various revenue models are being explored by the GCC now.
The rules for the parking management have been updated by the GCC. For the absence of workers, strict fines have been imposed by the corporation. There are also yearly fines for many lakhs of rupees if the contractor doesn`t meet the target.
Previous contractors had problems with mobilising labourers. This was mentioned by some officers belonging to the GCC special projects department. In many cases, the labourers left their jobs within days after getting appointed.
