For source segregation in Chennai, a new song has come out from GCC!!

To promote source segregation, a new song was released by the Chennai Mayor R. Priya on Saturday. It must be taken into account that the Chennai Mayor presented awards to the public and conservancy workers who have performed well and being a part of People`s Movement for Clean Cities. This song was composed and sung by popular music director and actor Mr. G. V. Prakash would be played in the battery operated vehicles that come to collect waste from the houses.
In the month of June 2022, the chief minister of TN Mr. M.K. Stalin inaugurated the People`s Movement for Clean Cities. Since then, GCC has been organising mass cleaning drives and awareness programmes etc. many volunteers, residential associations plus others like public and elected representatives etc have been contributing well to this.
To facilitate the conservancy workers, activists and public and resident associations participating in the movement, the Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department have issued a GO.
On Saturday, certificates and awards were issued to 130 persons and this was as per the press release from the Chennai Corporation. On the segregation of waste, awareness is being created in schools and colleges and the students in these educational institutions take a pledge. To increase the green cover, saplings were planted.
