The schools across Tamil Nadu having students in single digits would be identified by the chief educational officers. It must be noted that a detailed review could not take place previously and that was due to the Coronavirus pandemic. This week at the state headquarters, a review meeting would be held in Chennai and the survey details regarding schools with students in single digits would be submitted by all chief education officers.
A senior officer belonging to the school education department mentioned that the authorities would also submit details of the schools that do not have even a single student. The surprising piece of information is that in 2019-2020 more than 40 schools did not even have a single student and these schools were then converted into libraries. He hinted that these schools might be merged with the nearby institutions. There were less than 10 students in 1500schools in 2019-20.
He spoke about how the chief educational officers have been asked to provide details of the students` learning assessments. Point is that review for ensuring proper distribution of freebies for children in government as well as government aided schools would be discussed also. A detailed plan would be held to reduce the number of legal issues. It must be taken into account that the number of pending cases related to the school education department has crossed 10000.Cases related to teachers would be given importance and steps would be taken to reduce such cases. It is noteworthy that the measures taken to rebuild damaged schools that were identified recently would also be discussed. Pre budget plans would also be given importance by the authorities. Point is that the demands for grants for the school education department would be scheduled in May in 2022. Data on the additional admissions would also be submitted by chief educational officers.
