Monthly Rs. 1000/- for housewives - State government planning to implement on Pongal!

While campaigning for the election, the political party DMK had given the promise that it will provide monthly financial assistance of Rs. 1000/-to all the housewives once voted to power!
Now that DMK is the ruling party, it is gathered that the Tamil Nadu State Government has decided to implement this promise in the ensuing Pongal festival! As such, this detail of cash has not been included in the recently announced Pongal gift pack!
In this regard, an official from the Department of Cooperatives and Food shared:
In this scheme of proving monthly assistance of Rs. 1000/-, citizens including the families of state/central government workers and others earning regular monthly income from their jobs and the citizens who pay income tax WILL ALL BE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THIS MONTHLY ALLOWANCE OF Rs. 1000/-!
Presently, with the available data, a list is being identified for the citizens who are in extreme poverty and economically very backwards holding Anthyodhaya cards, priority cardholders, non-priority rice ration cardholders, and widows.
This payment will be credited to the bank account every month!
It has been decided that during the first phase, the scheme of Rs. 1000/- for housewives will commence on Pongal and this will be given to the list of citizens identified as per the above-mentioned procedure. It is also decided to extend this benefit gradually after the completion of the first phase. This planning is the reason why no bonus payment has been announced so far for the Pongal festival.
