Jobs for many youngsters!! - Multi Modal Logistics Park at Mappedu village near Chennai with rail link

Recently, the TN government signed a memorandum of understanding or MoU for the purpose of developing a multi modal logistics park at Mappedu village in Tiruvallur district. To provide connectivity from the nearest railhead near Kadambathur for a length of about 12km, a new railway siding would be developed. This was according to Chennai Port Trust. It is worth mentioning here that siding is a low speed railway track section distinct from the running line or through routes like the main or branch line etc.
It is learnt that talks have been going on with RVNL or Railway Vikas Nigam Limited (a public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Railways). The purpose of the talks was to participate in the SPV or special purpose vehicle formed with 3 stakeholders namely Chennai Port, NHAI and TIDC.
Point is that the MMLP project would induce favourable logistics parameters with respect to cost and time. There would be industrial development in the region and more job opportunities would be available.
It was mentioned by the chairman of CPT Mr. Sunil Palwal that the launch of Gati Shakthi would ensure close monitoring and speedy completion of the project.
It is important to note that the MMLP at Mappedu is among the first projects to be selected for implementation under Bharatmala Pariyojana belonging to the government of India.
Information is that this project would come up on 158acres and it would be the first ever to be established in TN. The superb piece of information is that this MMLP project would provide job opportunities for 10000 youngsters.
