The State Government of Tamil Nadu had earlier informed that many of the public misuse the section ‘wedding’ in the E-registration system to travel! As such, the section ‘wedding was removed! However, it has NOW BEEN REINTRODUCED!

As one of the measures for preventing the raging resurgent coronavirus which is spreading fast and wide, the State Government of Tamil Nadu has introduced new regulations apart from the few relaxations already announced!

It was earlier announced that E-Registration was MANDATORY for undertaking travel within the district or to other districts! As per this, a citizen can undertake travel under 4 kinds of reasons -  Medical Emergency, Caring for the Senior Citizens, Death and Death-related rites/events, and wedding. Only under the above 4 reasons, travel was permitted after E-Registration.

In this scenario, the State Government of Tamil Nadu removed the reason/section ‘Wedding’ from the website yesterday (Monday, 17th May). IN an explanation given by the State Government of Tamil Nadu in this regard, it was mentioned:” Using the section ‘wedding’ with the wrong intent, many citizens register! As such, a situation has arisen for a larger number of people to venture out! So, the section ‘wedding’ was removed from E-Registration!

In this situation, the section ‘wedding’ HAS NOW BEEN REINTRODUCED ON THE E-REGISTRATION WEBSITE!
