An exclusive website has been launched on behalf of the State Government of Tamil Nadu for procuring Remdesivir for private hospitals and others!
Remdesivir, the medicine to treat coronavirus, was initially sold at the Chennai Metro City only! As buyers from other districts swarmed over to the Chennai Metro City to buy Remdesivir, the sales were set up in other districts as well!
Remdesivir was sold in the districts of Trichy, Coimbatore, Salem, Thirunelveli, and Madurai. Tokens were initially distributed in these districts and then the medicine was sold! Tokens were distributed for the next few days.
In this scenario, The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister conducted a meeting with the Tamil Nadu State Minister for Health, Maa. Subramanian, and the Secretary of the Department of Health, Dr J. Radhakrishnan. Subsequently, the State Government of Tamil Nadu announced that Remdesivir will be sold at the private hospitals as well!
The State Health Minister announced that the private hospitals need to apply online and the State Government department of Health will give the medicine. Further, the Health Minister informed that the doctors would be emphasised to recommend Remdesivir for all patients!
Subsequently, the sales of Remdesivir was stopped yesterday (Monday, 17th May) in all the districts! In this situation, arrangements have been for the public to apply online to buy Remdesivir instead of standing in long queues and waiting!
The website, www.tnmsc.tn.gov.in, launched on behalf of the Medical Services Council, can be visited and applications submitted and the public can procure Remdesivir from the private hospitals!
While filling up for the procurement of Remdesivir, details such as name, address of the patient, hospital, symptoms of infection, any other diseases/complaints.
It is informed that the payment can be made in the counters set up by the Tamil Nadu Medical Services Council and receive Remdesivir!
